Although our name is new for summer 2023, the space and concept has been around for several years, as Suunnittelupaja, initiated by Jari Nevalainen and Juha Lehtinen back in 2016.
Over the years the space has developed and the purpose has evolved to meet the needs of the members at the time.
As Kollektiivi, our main aims are to:
- Provide a space for craftspeople, artists and small businesses to work and collaborate
- Foster a sense of community and collaboration among members
- Bring together craftspeople and artists from a diverse range of backgrounds and disciplines
- Support and share ideas, experiences and resources
Over the coming months we will be focusing on:
- Registering Kollektiivi Osuuskunta (Kollektiivi Cooperative) as a specific organisation for managing the space
- Expanding the area and space we have available to provide to members
- Setting up a Kollektiivi webshop for members to sell their crafts and art
